Modalities of treatment

  • Acupuncture is a treatment that uses single use sterile needles inserted into specific points in the body with an intention to create healing and change. Acupuncture is able to uniquely and safely support the body's ability to heal itself. It is rooted in a three thousand year old medical system of Chinese Medicine.

  • Chinese therapeutic massage performed over the clothes. Tui Na translates as “push and grasp,” and uses specific techniques to move the qi and blood in the body to stimulate the flow of energy, move blood and unblock stagnation which can be the cause of pain or imbalance. This is integrated into a session where needed, as even a few minutes of a specific technique based on your individual need can be hugely beneficial.

  • These methods are used when appropriate to move qi and blood, to open the channel pathways and allow things to move more freely.

  • Chinese herbal medicine can potentiate the healing effects that we are working on in our sessions together. Formulas are catered to your individual needs and constitution. Nutritional therapy is an important tenant of Chinese medicine. Food is the foundation of the production of qi, or our vital energy source. Nutritional recommendations are highly personalized and avoid extremes, but rather are gentle and approachable changes to your dietary habits.

  • Facial acupuncture is a targeted treatment that moves qi and blood in the face. It can help to reduce fine lines, stimulate the collagen production in the tissue, and improve skin complexion and radiance. Unlike treatments like botox, facial acupuncture requires a series of treatments to provide slow, sustaining and long lasting results.
